HAMBURG – Do you remember the books „Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea“, “Journey to the Center of the Earth“, “From the Earth to the Moon“ or “Around the World in Eighty Days“? Amongst many others, these are the most famous books written by one of the world’s most popular adventure writers – Jules Verne.
Next to his passion for science fiction, he loved the sea and sailed around Europe in his boat Saint-Michel. He was born in Nantes at the Loire River in the Upper Brittany region of western France, where also GE’s Offshore Wind business is located.
We are proud to announce the next Service Operation Vessel of Bernhard Schulte, designed and built by Ulstein, will carry the name „WINDEA JULES VERNE“.
She will be used by the GE operations team very soon at the Merkur Offshore windfarm.
